January 7, 1933: Crispin Beltran

On this day in 1933, Filipino labor leader and legislator Crispin Beltran was born in Bacacay, Albay to a peasant family. He was the co-founder of the labor organization Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) along with labor leader Felixberto Olalia, Jr. in 1980. He was a member of the House of Representatives for Anakpawis Partylist from 2001 to 2008.
